Google Reader & Alerts Are Great Tools for Realtors and Ancillary Businesses

Real estate brokers, agents and real estate ancillary businesses such as mortgage brokers, appraisers, and home inspectors can differentiate themselves by offering updated information to their clients. Google Reader is a wonderful tool for gathering, reading, and sharing all the interesting blogs and websites you read on the web.  As a Realtor, there are many sites to follow that keep you abreast of updated news, finances, trends and some of your favorite Blogs.

Some of my favorite sites to follow include: Real Trends, RISMedia, Mashable, BloodHoundBlog, The Real Estate Tomato, Inman, and MY Tech Opinion. You can learn more about Google Reader on their site.

I also use Google Alert:
Google Alerts are email updates of the latest relevant Google results (web, news, etc.) based on your choice of query or topic.
Two handy uses of Google Alerts include:
·    Monitoring a developing news story – Example: (Buyer Tax Credit)
·    Keeping current on a competitor or industry – Example: (Real Estate)

I suggest you visit these sites and learn to take advantage of the wealth of media updates at your fingertips to provide your clients, customers, and peers valuable content and a value added service through your Blogging, Tweeting, or newsletters.
